Tupler Technique Abdominal Exercises Julie Tupler, RN developed the Tupler Technique abdominal exercises to prevent back problems during and after pregnancy, to promote more effective pushing in labor and to help bring back the separation (diastasis) of the outermost abdominal muscles after birth. The proprietary Tupler Technique abdominal exercises are the foundation of the Maternal Fitness Program and were the focus of a research study conducted by the Columbia University Department of Physical Therapy in March, 2001. Results demonstrate that the women who have taken the Maternal Fitness Program and practiced the Tupler Technique abdominal exercises have a smaller diastasis than the control group of women who did not practice the Tupler Technique abdominal exercises during their pregnancies. A smaller diastasis means less back problems during and after pregnancy and more effective pushing during labor. Empirical research by Maternal Fitness over the years has shown that the Maternal Fitness program has made a significant difference in our clients' pregnancies and deliveries. Our studies also reveal that our clients have lower c-section and episiotomy rates than the average population |
"I had the pleasure of training with Julie Tupler, and ever since I've been training men and women using the Tupler abdominal technique." |
